英語四級考試翻譯練習及詳解
翻譯策略
1) 分句法
把原文中一個單詞或短語譯成句子，使原文的一個句子分譯成兩個或兩個以上的句子。或干脆把原文的一個句子拆開，譯成兩個或兩個以上的句子。
例1 八月中旬，修理組人員在驕陽下工作。
譯文: It was in mid-August,and the repair section operated under the blazing sun.
例2 他為人單純而坦率。
譯文: He was very clean.His mind was open.
例3 The mother might have spoken with understandable pride of her child.
譯文: 母親談到她的孩子時，也許有自豪感，這是可以理解的。
例4 I wrote four books in the first three years ,a record never touched before.
譯文: 我頭三年寫了四本書，打破了以往的記錄。
2)合句法
把原文中兩個或以上的簡單句，主從復合句或并列復合句等譯成一個單句。
例5 她已試了好幾次，要幫他們另找一所出租的房子，結果并未成功。
譯文:She had made several attempts to help them find other rental quarters without success.
例6 他們有遵守交通規則，機器出了故障。
譯文：His failure to observe the safety regulations resulted in an accident to the machinery.
例7 When we praise the Chinese leadership and the people, we are not merely being polite.
譯文：我們對中國領導人和中國人民的贊揚不僅僅是出于禮貌。

解析：通過鍛煉，我們可以保持健康。其實這題答案不止一個。鍛煉可以用名詞也可以用動詞短語。通過可以用by表示方式，through表示途徑。 By taking exercises /Through exercises。往往by用于by + doing，而through后接名詞哦。
2. listening to music enables us to feel relaxed
解析：聽音樂在句中作主語，聽應當處理成動名詞形式。能使我們放松很多同學會采用 can make us feel relaxed的結構。其實，enable就有能夠使某人的含義，注意enable sb. to do 的表達。

解析：本題是強調語氣，強調決不能，所以聯想到on no account ,by no means,at no time,in no case等。不管用哪一個，都要注意它們是含有否定的意味的，因此在置于句首時應使用倒裝語序。
