諺語：不善始者不善終

　　A bad beginning makes a bad ending.

　　不善始者不善終。

　　這句話是希臘的悲劇詩人歐里庇得斯(Euripides)的名句。 還可以說成A good beginning makes a good ending.

　　If you start a thing badly it takes a long time to finish it, because the bad start seriously affects the later work. But if you make a good start, everything follows naturally and easily.

　　意思就是一個不好的開始，往往需要花更多力氣彌補，并且影響事情后面的進展。所以，做事開個好頭，常常會讓后面的工作進行得更加自然、順利。

　　中世紀的歐洲，人們通過諺語表達對宇宙的理解，并將它們用在辯論中支持自己的觀點。不少英文諺語也是來自拉丁語和希臘語。
